Wednesday Weigh In: Week 6

What a week it has been. I feel like I’ve been non-stop busy since my last weigh-in, which has probably contributed to my results this week. My first week of Keto was pretty good. Now, as I said last week, I haven’t gone full Keto. I am easing myself in. That being said, I did consume a few things I shouldn’t have.

I had french fries once, but other than that I have stayed away from potatoes, and I’ve stayed away from rice. I’ve cut down my bread intake by so much. I think I can count on one hand the amount of times I consumed something bread-like this week. It’s amazing how different those changes can make things.

I haven’t consumed any soda pop, and I’m consuming mostly water, or a mix of cranberry juice and water. I need flavour to my drink when I’m eating dinner, so I add cranberry juice to my water to give it a little kick (as it’s something we have in the house). I did pick up a Mio when grocery shopping this weekend, so we will see how that affects things.

I made some keto muffins that actually weren’t too bad. Not the best, but I think it was from the coconut oil I used (I’m not a huge fan of coconut oil and coconut milk, but I’m going to have to get used to them), and the sugar just… doesn’t taste like sugar when it’s not real.

All of my dinner’s have been keto-friendly with the exception of Thanksgiving, because I’m not going to sit here and punish myself. I’m using keto as a guideline to help myself out. I don’t want to dive right in and make a huge life change, but it’s helping me eliminate my bad choices, and consume only good carbs if I need a carb up.

No work outs this week, and I can give you all the excuses in the world, but I won’t. My hope is that after things die down in life a bit (likely after the election on the 22nd), then I can introduce the gym back into my routine, and get back to a proper routine (which will probably get ruined when I go to NYC, but at least my hotel has a gym!).

  1. Starting weight at beginning of Week 5
  2. Current weight
  3. Weight loss or gain
  4. What attributed to my loss or gain?
    a) What was my food intake like?
Mostly keto-friendly, but add in a little Thanksgiving into that mix.
    b) How many times did I hit the gym?
    c) Was I more weights than cardio?
Cardio in the sense that I feel like I’ve been all over.
  5. Pictures of my progress
    None this week!
  6. What hurdles did I face?
I refuse to call Thanksgiving a hurdle.
  7. Goals for the next week
Try and stay in a good groove when I’m working the advanced polls for the election this weekend – we aren’t allowed to leave the premises, so I need to bring my lunches/snacks. Wish me luck!
  8. Power quote
“There is no such things as failure – either you win, or you learn.”
