Wednesday Weigh In: Week 2

I am happy to say that I’m no longer afraid of the scale. I was – for a long, long time. I’m sure many people can relate to that feeling. I was always afraid of the number. I was always afraid of the idea of “Oh shit, did I gain more weight?” or “Man, I’m a lot heavier than I thought.” But now, I have a different feeling about it.

I look forward to my weigh in. I’m curious to know how well I’ve done, or how poorly I’ve done. I’m interested to see how my choice to be active or not, and eat healthy or not, effects the weight I’m at. I look forward to stepping on that scale, and waiting for the result.

I’ve decided that even if it’s a bad outcome one week, I’m not going to let it bring me down. This is a challenge for myself to figure out where my strengths and weaknesses are – and not just at the gym. What food entices me? How much does my work play into my active lifestyle? There are so many things that play a role, and I’m no longer scared of it.

After all, this is my body.

  4. What attributed to my loss or gain?
    a) What was my food intake like?
    Better than usual. I started my week off strong with bringing in my own lunch, and I’ve been more aware of what I consume when I get home. I’m a snacker – I’ve always been a snacker – so I’m trying to stick to healthier options. Are they always in my house? No. But I’m trying.
    b) How many times did I hit the gym?
    Once again, zero. Mother nature had other plans for me this week.
    c) Was I more weights than cardio?
    I definitely did more cardio – I get a good work out heaving cases of pop around, and running around at work all the time.
  5. Pictures of my progress
    I got a new phone this week, and I’ve been having too much fun setting it up that I haven’t taken any full body shots. I’ll bring you some next week!
  6. What hurdles did I face?
    We may or may not have ordered Chinese food on the weekend, and had it as leftovers the next day as well…
  7. Goals for the next week
    I’m off for a week, and so my focus is healthy eating while on vacation. I’m heading away for a few days to visit my bestie in Ottawa, and I know we will be doing some walking around Byward Market. I’m hoping to find some time later in the week for some gym excursions, but I’ll be honest in saying next week is about just getting some time to myself, and recouping after a busy few weeks.

I’ve got a great post coming this weekend of some gift ideas for a momma-to-be. I can’t reveal it quite yet, as I haven’t given her the present yet (Hi Jess, see you Saturday!) but I’m excited to share it with everyone.

I hope everyone is having a strong week. Remember, Wednesday means we are halfway through the standard work week! We can do this!
