Make-up is not something I wear every day. I think it’s because I leave for work at a time that I find early in the morning (usually around 7am I’m out the door), and I’m not awake enough to try and even put make up on. One of my best friends, Alyssa, can start work at 6:45am (not leave the house, but actually start work) and have a beautiful face of make up. Her eyeliner/eyeshadow is ALWAYS on point. I don’t think I’ve seen a day for her where it hasn’t been. Apparently she can get up early enough. I, on the other hand, am not a morning person.
You can ask anyone that knows me. I’d rather sleep that time away instead.
When I do wear make up, I have two different faces I put on. I have my basic face, and my night out face. Today, I will let you in on my basic face beauty secrets.
Step 1. What I call “Spot Check”. Spot check usually just consists of the foundation stick, and on occasion I’ll use the powder. Both are in Classic Ivory, 120, from Maybelline.
Step 2. Naked 2 Palette. I enjoy this palette as it has options for a night out on one end, and my day to day neutrals on the other end. You can tell which ones I’ve been using more than others. For every day wear, I go with Half Baked (2nd from left), Bootycall (3rd from left) and Chopper (4th from left). Naked 2 was my first ever Naked palette and I love it.
Step 3. Bronzer. This Cargo HD bronzer came in one of my Fab Fit Fun boxes. I haven’t used it too many times, as I’m also trying to run down the other bronzer that I use, but this has been a great addition to my make up collection.
Step 4. Mascara. I couldn’t tell you how many different mascaras are currently in my make up bag. I’ve probably tried every brand that Shoppers Drug Mart has to offer, but this Essence mascara has been a gold mine. I would recommend this to anyone.
Most of my products I use on my face I’ve either gotten as a present, from Shoppers Drug Mart, or from my Fab Fit Fun, and other beauty boxes. On a very, very rare occasion I will purchase something from Sephora, but I’m telling you now. I’m not a beauty guru.
Back in December I went to Niagara-on-the-Lake with two of my best friends, Kris-Anne and Robin, to celebrate my birthday. We were getting ready to go out, and I had brought a bag full of beauty products. Kris-Anne was in awe, and was like I don’t know what half of this is! And I replied, “Neither do I!” I’m all about the basics. If you have any great beauty tips for me, let me know in the comments! I’m always open to learning new styles (especially if it brings me out of my comfort zone – hello goals – and introduces me to new things!)
Let me know if you use any of the same products!
