Adult Friendships: Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Adult friendships are probably the hardest, yet the easiest, friendships to have in your lifetime. I refer to them as "adult" friendships because they are very different from the teenage friendships that you experience when you're younger. The minute you throw in engagements, and marriage, and kids, and buying houses, and moving cities or provinces, and all of that fun adult style stuff into your life, friendships change. When conversations used to be about what bar we were going to go to become what we bought on sale at Walmart recently, you know your life has changed.

Oh My Dating: It’s Hard, And It’s Not Fun

Dating is hard. Dating isn't fun. It's supposed to be, but let's be real - it's not. The "first date" is the worst. Coffee? Drinks at a bar? A walk by the lake? Those are standard first dates. But they're the worst. At a coffee shop? Eventually your coffee gets cold or you've drank it too fast. At a bar? You hit the point where either you've nursed your drink, or you know you can't have another drink because you're about to embarrass yourself. And the walk by the lake? You can only tell your life story for so long.

Friday Fave – Dry Shampoo For The WIN!

I can remember one of my first experiences with dry shampoo. I was working in another city, living with my ex boyfriend and his family (hello if you're reading!) and I was at work at the time of trying it. I didn't know how to use it. I'm serious. I didn't know if I had to rub it in, or brush it out, or whatever. It's embarrassing to look back on. I might call myself a little bit of a pro now.

    FRIDAY FAVES – Oh Canada!

Da-da-da-DA! OH CANADA! The 2018 Winter Olympics are here! And I am always so proud to be Canadian during the Olympics. I'm proud all year round, don't get me wrong. But when it comes to reppin' our home and native land during the summer or winter Olympics, I'm all in.

My Beauty Routine – The Basics

Make-up is not something I wear every day. I think it's because I leave for work at a time that I find early in the morning (usually around 7am I'm out the door), and I'm not awake enough to try and even put make up on. One of my best friends, Alyssa, can start work at 6:45am (not leave the house, but actually start work) and have a beautiful face of make up. Her eyeliner/eyeshadow is ALWAYS on point. I don't think I've seen a day for her where it hasn't been. Apparently she can get up early enough. I, on the other hand, am not a morning person.

    Happy National Nutella Day!

I love Nutella. I think I've only come across one... maybe two people in my life that don't like Nutella. What isn't to like? It's spreadable chocolate. Chocolate is good. And to spread it on a sandwich is even better. Don't give me that look. I'm not talking a ham sandwich. I'm talking a peanut butter and banana AND NUTELLA sandwich. Have you tried it? You need to. There are two ways to perfect this sandwich.

    Oh My Goals!

I had all of these "resolutions" I wanted to make for 2018, and had plans set to get myself a personal trainer in January. Then, this idiot self of mine stepped off a curb in early January and twisted my ankle. Yes, you read that right. I stepped off a curb. Off a curb. And twisted my ankle. I blamed the fact that I'm fat. Even though it had nothing to do with it.
